GET A GRIP

We've decided to switch to Tumblr to keep an ongoing record of jobs we've done, events and things we're up to at GET A GRIP.

For an archive of work over 2010 and back when we started in 2009, check out our OLD BLOG

An open call for illustrators, artists and designers

To cut a long story short, in a couple of months GET A GRIP will be moving into a retail premises and launching a clothing and product label. We will still be printing on commission for you guys exactly the same, infact, we are hoping that it will help our screenprinting service be even better, but the hike in rent means we need to raise some extra income from somewhere, and with a window-space to fill, we thought this would be a fun way of making ends meet.

It also means that we get to stretch our legs as printers a bit- to show what we can do with a couple of screens and a squeegee, and offer design opportunities to people that aren’t limited by the usual budget.

We’re looking for enthusiastic designers, illustrators and artists of all different styles and disciplines, who like our ethics and business, and reckon they’d be up for working with us.

Being printers we will be starting with the product and using that to match up to a designer- whether it’s the paper a greeting card will be printed onto, or the fabric of a blank T-shirt, then what the designer chooses to go on it is a totally open brief.

If you think you’d like to do some designing for us, please get in touch with us at info(at)getagripstudio(dot)com with a link to your website. Feel free to reblog and send this to people you think might enjoy working with us. We have some initial design opportunities for the launch, and as this project is ongoing, plenty in the future. Following this, if we find a product we think you’d be perfect to design a print for, we will get in touch with more information about the commission then. This is for paid work too, so although we think it’s a great opportunity for designers to get their work printed onto physical products, we don’t expect something for nothing.

Thanks!

Kay & Sam
