A commission from artist WIll Hutson on behalf of Rise Above Records.
The prints involved sourcing UV blacklight paint (waterbased, of course) and then working out how to use them for screenprinting.
However the end result was pretty awesome. They needed very off white paper to absorb rather than reflect the light source and the paint glows like mad under a black light. However they had absolutely no screen stability, lasted under 10 seconds between pulls and when they dried in the screen, boy did they dry in!
When we say we’re up for a challenge, we mean it, and we can now add UV black light paints next to instant coffee in our list of ‘Things You Probably Shouldn’t be Able to Screenprint With’.
Short clip of the impressive Tim Fletcher who came down to play at GET A GRIP Shop for the Brothers of The Stripe Exhibition. The exhibition, some of which you can see in the background, is on all week including the bank holidays so come down and check it out!
It’s only the second time we’ve done this at Get A Grip towers, one colour print on the back of vinyl. Guaranteed to be the raddest b-side since Vanilla Ice’s debut album. Done for Joyce Manor’s ‘Of All Things I Will Soon Grow Tired’ release, click here for a listen and here for all things Joyce Manor.
We would like to be the first on the internet to congratulate Nick & Laura on their big day with these wonderful wedding favours that we’re sure will keep Nick busy doing the washing up for the next few years, until they buy a dishwasher.
Our intern Dean just dropped his first line, Tees And That! He’s invested countless hours of blood, sweat and dedication but it’s finally paid off. Lovingly printed on top notch organic Anvil tees. Funky fresh!
